Our Journey Grew from a
Grassroots Hockey Movement
Perhaps you've heard of two 11-year-old girls (and a little sister) who stood up to save their crumbling dek hockey rink in Gilbertsville, PA and rebuilt it with a generous $200K gift from Flyers Charities and backing of the Philadelphia Flyers?! This is truly the heartbeat of how we arrived at Hockey Is Home. A beautiful, stars-aligned journey sparked our motivation to continue growing the game and helping hockey facilities and brands to thrive!
Kate Van Druff
With over 2 decades of marketing experience, Kate is a hockey mom-turned player. She handled the entire behind-the-scenes marketing and PR efforts for the grassroots hockey efforts to save and rebuild a local ball hockey rink in Gilbertsville, PA, with her daughters and their friend and the Philadelphia Flyers and Flyers Charities.
Through her efforts, Kate served as project manager for the rink rebuild, coordinating between Athletica and MS3 along with Flyers Charities, New Hanover Township, and a local nonprofit to arrive at a beautifully designed, state-of-the-art ball hockey rink.
Kate owns Dances with Words Creative Writing & Marketing agency and offers Hockey Marketing Services as a spinoff of her brand. She's excited to provide written content, printed marketing materials, digital designs, and creative works of all kinds. From press releases and flyers to newsletters, website content, blog posts, and more, she can handle a complete marketing campaign or a single project.
